Autumnal Wedding at Island Shangri-La Library

Quite often we have couples from overseas who we communicated with through email and may not get a chance to meet until the actual wedding day like with the bride, Lydia, for the present wedding. Fortunately, her bubbly personality and having similar vision made brainstorming ideas a breeze and design her wedding a joy.

The cocktail and reception were held at the Library and Atrium of Island Shangri La. Lydia likes relaxed, loose and less constructed style with an autumnal colour palette of peach and burgundy.

A vintage gramophone overflown with flowers to welcome the guests.

Fruits are an awesome 'accessory', adding textures and fun. We used plum, grapes, cherries and blueberries to compliment the arrangements for the reception and escort card tables.

Being from overseas, it doesn't come as a surprise that Lydia is not keen on a local style backdrop. It is also a good idea to consider working with what the venue has to offer and everyone will notice these tall and classic bookshelves upon entering the Library. We like new ideas and strive to do things differently, so using the bookshelves as the 'backdrop', we suggested a draping curtain made with fresh foliage and flowers hanging down in front of the bookshelves and tada... here it is.

Awfully excited to receive a few stunning pictures taken by Henry Fok Photojournalist  below. It is refreshing to see photos that move away from being posed or staged and you can tell that Henry captures emotions and details in their most pure and natural form.

Heart this shot of the bride with the bridal bouquet!

 Congrats Lydia & Mayur!

Following is another wedding also at the Library and Atrium of Island Shangri-La. In stark contrast to an autumnal, natural style in this wedding, the other wedding is all about elegant and modern style.
