Master Floral Class with Karen Tran - Part 1

Hello readers, have been really looking forward to sharing my recent fleur adventure with you all.

Earlier last month, I jetted off to San Diego in California and spent 3 days taking a master class with one of my favorite floral designers, Karen Tran. Her work is just awfully romantic, dreamy and basically is the definition of glamour and luxe.

Karen and her talented daughter, Aileen, were there to guide, push and inspire us during the 3 days.

We got to use a lot of high quality flowers such as these fragrant gardenia babies!

If I have to pick just one colour, there is no doubt I will choose blush, so my heart completely melted when I saw these gorgeous Cafe Au Lait dahlias which was grown in California and Quicksand roses.

On the first day, we all learned how to do a classic tall centerpiece, the pics here don't even come close to doing them justice.

All of us also made a bridal bouquet and we we fortunate to have our bouquets professionally photographed. Here are shots taken by Sarah Zimmer.

Karen provided us with a wide selection of brooches and appliques to dress up our bouquets. I made a 'collar' with vintage lace to hide the 'neck' of the bouquet and finish the handle off ivory satin ribbon and a diamante brooch.

And pics taken by Joseph Matthew below.

We get to pick one out of 3 stunning wedding gowns for the model to wear for our bouquet shot. I went for an elegant gown by Ines DiSanto "Amour", love the gorgeous art deco inspired lace and blush underlay!

My bouquet consisted of blush rose, buttercream garden rose, ivory spray rose and stunning white gardenia.

Apart from looks, who doesn't love fragrant flowers? The gardenia and garden rose just have the sweetest scents that will put any bride in a blissful mood.
